About five years ago, the idea of Sweden arranging an EOES was first mentioned.

About two years ago – and after half a year of preparatory work – the faculties of Science and Engineering at Lund University decided to assign the departments of Biology, Chemistry and Physics with the task of arranging the EOES competition in May of 2026, in close cooperation with the Swedish EOES organisation.

And then, after several years of hard work, EOES 2026 in Lund was finally inaugurated on May 3rd of 2026!

Now that the dust has settled after an intense week of experimental work, cultural events and social activities, the organisers of EOES 2026 can conclude that all their hard work has paid off.

As Director of EOES 2026 – and on behalf of both the Organising Committee and the Scientific Committee – I would like to thank all participants for being a part of this very special week. We hope that all of you – students and mentors – have enjoyed your time at EOES 2026 in Lund and that you have taken many pleasant memories with you back home.
